Below are the most frequently asked questions regarding the Comfort Systems Home Warranty. If you have a question that is not listed here, please contact us and we will be happy to respond to in a timely manner.

What is a Comfort System Home Warranty?

Our home warranty is a 13 month service contract, which will protect homeowners against the high cost of unexpected covered repairs or even replacements on their major systems and appliances that break down due to normal usage, regardless of age*. A home warranty covers mechanical systems and appliances that are located on the premises and in good and safe operating condition on the first date of the term of the warranty. (Note: Pre-existing conditions are not covered).

What does Basic Coverage mean?

“Basic Coverage”** refers to the home heating, plumbing, electrical systems, including the water heater and major appliances, such as the dishwasher, range/oven/cook top, garbage disposal, built-in microwave, etc. Call us at 942-8383 for more information.

Do I need a home inspection in order to enroll?

No. A certified home inspection is not required as a condition to purchase the home warranty plan.

Is there a waiting period for service?

If a real estate firm is selling the home, there are no waiting periods and no exclusionary periods.

Can I purchase a home warranty plan if I am not involved in a real estate transaction?

Yes. You can purchase a Comfort Systems home warranty at anytime during your home ownership. You do not have to be involved in a real estate transaction of any kind. Call our local customer service line 942-8383 for more information, a brochure, or to order a warranty.

When does the Home Warranty Protection Begin?

Protection for the Home Buyer begins on the date of closing for your home sale upon Comfort Systems receiving the funds and continues for 13 months for the buyer of your home.

Whom do I call when a covered system or appliance breaks down?

Call our local 24-hour number, 942-8383 or visit our website www.comfortsystems.net, and request service. We will then contact you for a local technician to perform the required service call, usually within 24 hours. A technician will give you a call to set up a mutually convenient appointment time. If the problem is an emergency, for example, the temperature is extremely hot or cold, or a plumbing problem is causing an excessive amount of damage, call our local number and we will perform an emergency service call.

Is there a fee for a service call?

Yes, there is a low service call fee due on each trade visit when the technician comes to your home. Additional charges may apply to non-covered items (i.e. code upgrades, etc). The service technician will advise you if there will be any additional charges BEFORE doing the work. If you have several problems within the same trade taken care of at one time, you only pay one fee.

Is there any additional fee(s) for permits or to haul off old equipment?

No. Unlike other home warranty companies, Comfort Systems does NOT charge you for permits or to haul off the old equipment. We also do not charge for Freon recapture.

Do you cover all makes and models?

Yes. The appliances and systems listed in your home warranty plan are covered regardless of age, make or model; as long as they are in working condition at the time you purchase the plan. (Appliances and systems designated as commercial by the manufacturer are not covered.)

Can I renew my Comfort Systems Home Warranty?

Yes, the plan is renewable at the option of Comfort Systems. In that event, you will be notified of the current rate and terms of renewal before the expiration date,

Why should I choose the Comfort Systems Home Warranty?

There are several reasons for choosing a Comfort Systems Home Warranty. First, your home warranty is only as good as the service you receive and Comfort Systems makes serving our customers our top priority. Our technicians are highly and continually trained utilizing the most sophisticated HVAC technologies and equipment. Second, the Comfort Systems Home Warranty is good for 13 months from the date of closing of your home. You are receiving an extra month of coverage from us. Third, we are a local company and as such by purchasing our warranty you are supporting the local economy. Our employees live and work in Wichita and the surrounding communities just like you do.

* Systems and appliances designated by the manufacturer as commercial are not covered.

** Optional coverage such as pool/spa is available for an additional fee. See the contract for specific coverage, limitations and exclusions. If you would like a copy of the contract to review before closing, please contact us & we would be happy to send one to you.

And if thats not enough, take a look at what our customers have had to say...

"My hot water heater failed on a Saturday when I had a house full of company. I called the Comfort Systems Home Warranty department and they installed a new one that afternoon. I'm more than pleased with the service!"
